Description

The Web & Events Manager will manage CBRC’s online presence, including website and other online platforms, integration and automation between existing digital platforms and create effective communication channels and stakeholders’ online experiences. The Web & Events Manager will have a strong understanding of and expertise in digital content management, accessibility, usability, architecture, development, as well as an understanding of digital marketing, search engine optimization and advertising, brand management, and online measurement tools.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Executing CBRC’s web and email strategies.
  • Contributing to the growth of CBRC’s online presence and digital engagement.
  • Managing the database of CBRC’s online audiences and providing analytics and reports to project managers and evaluation team.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of CBRC’s website, project-specific microsites, and websites from associated initiatives including, but not limited to, the Advance community alliance and the Engage study.
  • Assisting with the implementation and administration of online systems, email communications, and the development and execution of Zoom webinars.
  • Managing technical aspects of web-based events and providing technical event planning support for in-person events including, but not limited to, CBRC’s annual Summit conference.
  • Managing large web-based projects including, but not limited to, the redesign of CBRC's website and microsites developed for funded project initiatives.
  • Supporting the production of supplementary print materials and other collateral for events.
  • Working collaboratively within CBRC’s communications team, and interdepartmentally with staff from other teams.
  • Liaising with web developers and external contractors about building and maintaining websites, registration pages, online events, and video libraries of past events.
  • Using digital platforms as a tool for health promotion, community engagement, and structural change for 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities in Canada.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media or equivalent experience;
  • Expertise in NationBuilder, Wordpress websites;
  • Strong HTML and CSS coding skills;
  • Familiarity with various Wordpress plugins (such as WPML, Polylang, Avada, GravityForms);
  • Familiarity with Hosting and Domain configuration with services such as Rebel;
  • Familiarity with online letter writing campaigns and survey platforms like New/Mode, Survey Monkey, Qualtrics;
  • Expertise in website development and management;
  • Expertise in in-person and online event development and management; experience with small and large scale regional or national events.

Other Competencies & Qualifications (assets)

  • Familiarity with MailChimp and other email platforms;
  • Ability to develop analytics reports, facilitate meetings and training, and participate in team communications;
  • Capacity to multi-task and function under tight and/or competing deadlines;
  • Ability to recognize when to take initiative and when to seek guidance;
    Autonomous worker with an ability to adapt and work within a team setting;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to analyze processes and prioritize activities;
  • Expertise in Google Analytics;
  • Ability to work in French and additional languages (written and verbal proficiency) is desirable;
  • Ability to generate content and accompanying graphics for CBRC's website and social media;
  • Knowledge of 2S/LGBTQIA+ health, current HIV prevention strategies;
    Expertise or familiarity with AddSearch;
  • Expertise or familiarity with SquareSpace;
  • Expertise or familiarity with Teachable and/or TrakStar online learning platforms.
